Global Technology Is Not Static

Technology is something which always keeps changing.  What is the in thing today is bound to become outdated and obsolete within the next few years.  A few examples of these are the initial record players which used those 33 rpm records.  This was replaced with tape recorders using the big spool type storage devices.  This gave way to cassette recorders which has now been replaced by CDs and DVDs.

The same is the case with computers which is perhaps the greatest invention of mankind over past 60 years.  Today we have computers which are at least 10 times more powerful and fast than the first main frame computer which used to make so much noise and generate so much heat that it had to be shut down regularly.

The only mode of communication that we were aware of in the early 1950 and 1960’s was the telephone.  Talking over the telephone was considered a great achievement and getting a connection through was considered even a greater achievement.  With the arrival of mobile phones telecommunication has moved to the next high level of accomplishment and today talking to someone of communication has become a very easy job.  Not only talking, mobile phones have also made it possible for us to have a browser, tape-recorder, a video-camera, a still-camera and a pager all rolled into one. Such is the power of technology.

Looking at history we can safely conclude that as far as internet and computer technology is concerned, we have just scratched the surface and many path breaking and revolutionary changes are in the offing over the next few years.  But one point which should be borne in mind is that technology should be used only for the benefit of mankind and to make this world a better and happier place to live in.  It would be a crime to use technology to pit one human being against another.

Global Technology Growth

The growth of technology over the past few decades has been amazing and what seemed impossible even half a century back is now a reality.  While writing this article it would be pertinent to point out the famous quote of Thomas Watson who had said “I think there is a world market maybe for 5 computers”. Mr. Watson was none other than the Chairman of IBM way back in 1943.  Though 1943 may look very far back for many of us, in terms of history, it isn’t very far off.  Just imagine within 70 years how this statement has been proven totally wrong.

The power of technology, especially global technology is changing rapidly and the perhaps the defining moment has arrived with the arrival of internet.  This is a technology which has redefined the way we communicate and do business.  In fact it has changed our way of life.  Sitting in the comfort of our house, not only we can talk and exchange messages with our near and dear ones, we can also have our favorite pizza delivered at our doorstep just by a click of the mouse.  For a student aspiring to join the best college, he or she need not be present there physically.  The whole process of applying, sitting for an exam and attending an interview could all be done online.

Withdrawing money from the bank, transferring funds to who you wish, buying and selling products and services, you name it; everything is possible with the internet.  In one big sweep this wonderful technological invention has removed the barriers of time and distance.  It is also a great leveler and any person irrespective of caste, creed, religion or economic background can be a part of this revolution. This is just the beginning and the future holds immense possibilities and potentialities with this game-changing technology.

New Android OS Offers Better Security

Mobile devices are quickly becoming the most common way for people to access the Internet. Although smartphone use in the U.S. currently lags behind use in many Asian countries, mobile devices are becoming more popular. This means that mobile phone users will need to start paying attention to the same security risks that they look for when using their laptops and PCs. The latest version of Google’s Android operating system could offer increased security that will keep smartphone users safe while they surf the Web.

Clickjacking Threats on the Internet

“Gingerbread,” as Google has dubbed their latest Android OS, protects mobile device users from clickjack attacks. Clickjack attacks are hidden elements on a website that can be used to run scripts without the user’s knowledge. In theory, they could cause you to do anything from making purchases on Amazon.com to downloading spyware.

Stopping Clickjacks on Your Phone

To date, the best protection has been to avoid questionable sites. For instance, you should only visit video, game, and bingo sites that you trust. An application called NoScript helped for a while, but hackers quickly found ways around it. Since NoScript was never available for mobile devices, smartphone users never even had that protection.

The latest Android update, however, promises to alert users when they encounter clickjacked links. It also prevents them from unintentionally following hidden links.

So far, the updated Android OS seems to help users avoid clickjacks. As with most Internet security applications, though, it will only work for so long before a hacker figures out a way to catch unsuspecting Internet users with another trick. College Degees Online? Who Knew!

Do you guys ever sit up late watching bad television shows and see those commercials for online colleges? I honestly really never thought much of them until I came across this cool website called earnmydegree.com the other day. The site really goes into detail explaining all the different programs that are out there that I never even knew about, especially the online degrees. Needless to say I was pretty shocked to know how much you can achieve and what you can do with an online degree.

The trouble is finding the one that’s right for you and works best with your ultimate goals and your current and potential lifestyle. You need to be honest with yourself about how much time you actually have and what you can actually see yourself doing for the rest of your life. Fortunately, there are websites out there that will help you sift through what’s available and find a perfect match. I never even thought that was possible.

I always thought that going to an online college was just some sort of scam and that no job would ever accept an online degree. Boy, was I wrong! That’s not the case at all. In fact, more than 400,000 students have gotten their degrees from certified universities and colleges online. And you can get various types of degrees, too, depending on what level of education you already have. Depending on the program and school, you can get an associate’s degree, a bachelor’s degree, or even a master’s. The possibilities are endless – and I’m so glad I finally found out all of this information. Now, I just need some help deciding what I want to do. There are so many options and schools to chose from. Don’t you just love the Internet?
